July Visit to Turner or part one of the story.

Turner field was impressive in the historical statue and team history plaza outside of the stadium. To the right is the Georgia Peach who authored a decent biography.





The Braves are one of the oldest teams in the National League but probably changed names and moved more than any other. In fact this picture is the beginning of a large mural of the various changes in the team time line. The braves are the only team to win the world series in three different cities, 1914 Boston, 1957 Milwaukee, 1995 Atlanta, not really an accomplishment as they kept re-locating.
To the right is the first Braves team I remember as I had most of the 1983 topps set. Turner has a team picture of all of the teams which have played in the Atlanta era of Braves baseball.


A view from the seats in which we sat. The strangest occurrence was present in our seat location, it was mostly Baltimore fans who had made the trip to Atlanta for the inter-league series. These die-hard Orioles fans had bought tickets as early as James did. This was the first of good occurrences on the deep south rode trip. Baltimore lost after the outfielder dropped the third out on a Dan Uggla "hit" and the next batter hit a grand slam, this mistake led to all 5 of the Braves runs.

It began to rain as the game ended and we watched the end of the game here from the view to the left. We then walked back to the car and watched the fireworks on the way back, then headed to Florida for the next adventure of July in the south.
